Order a set of cards!

Hi!

See these cool cards?

2023 set of 10 postcards

These are ten of the designs I’ve drawn this year (plus my business card at the bottom right). I made them into a postcard set, which, if you like them, YOU can buy right now!

These are the prices for 1 set of the 10 different postcards, printed on high-quality paper, including shipping (via bpost):
to Belgium: €13 per set
to the rest of Europe: €17 per set
to the rest of the world: €18 per set

To order them, please send the correct amount to my PayPal, specifying how many sets you would like to order and to which name and address I can send them. If you have questions or would rather get in touch before ordering, please send me an email to minervacerridwen@gmail.com so I can help you out!

For a better look at some of the illustrations, I refer to the Illustrations page on my website.

Some more news:

  • The cover of Rise, the anthology that will include my flash story “Ace-tral Projection”, has been revealed. You can take a peek here! The book will release on October 25, in paperback, hardcover, and ebook format.
  • It’s the 15th today, so there’s a new edition of Paranatellonta! Enjoy number 364, titled “Autumnal Company”, here.
  • And last but not least: my brand-new short story “Good-Natured Anxiety for the Queer Creature” has been accepted for publication in Queens in Wonderland, the queer Alice in Wonderland-themed anthology from No Bad Books Press! I’ve seen summaries of some of the other stories that will be included (and even got to read one full story…) and I really look forward to this collection myself!

A Bookstr Interview and Lots of Art

Wow, have I really not written any blog posts since February? Oops…

Well, hello! Time sure is flying, and lots of things are in the works, though none of them have come to the point of any Big Announcements yet. If anyone is making lists of skills writers need, don’t forget to add “having patience”.

I’m writing to you today because I gave an interview! Book website Bookstr asked me and 4 other asexual authors all the same five questions about the reasons why we write and our experiences, and I found it very interesting to read the answers of the others as well. You can read the full interview via this link. Enjoy!

I also wanted to tell you that I participated in Workshop Week last week and made quite a lot of art! You can see all the results on my Instagram; I learned new techniques for handlettering, watercolour painting, portraiture, and sketching flowers, and had a lot of fun with all that! I’ve already been applying what I learned to some new cards today.

Tonight I participated in the end-of-schoolyear performance of my spoken-word Storytelling class, and I’m very happy with how it went. I can feel how much I learned and improved since we started last September, and can’t wait to see how our skills will evolve as the class continues. Even in my writing, I can feel its influence.

I hope to be back soon with some publishing news. Fingers crossed!

Love,

Minerva

Happy December!

Yes, it really is December already. And yet I’m here to talk about… the October drawing challenge that involves ink, generally known as Inktober. Oops?

Anyway, I can proudly say that I did finish Inktober now, as promised! It took me until yesterday, but that’s not what we’ll be remembering, right?

Finishing Inktober: Choose Your Battles

This piece holds the final week of Peachtober prompts: there’s a “castle”, a “robot”, “land” and “sea” coming together on the right, the ivy on the T is my “plant”, and the final prompts “whale”, “pet”, and “sleepy” all come together in this cute whale on its fluffy pillow, because who wouldn’t want to pet that?

You can find the original Peachtober22 prompts here, and my earlier Inktober pieces are all on my Instagram.

Yes, this piece is a tiny little bit ironic. And yes, I’m proud of it and will be putting it on my wall as a reminder. Thank you for following along on my Inktober journey, even if it was a little longer than intended.

Love,

Minerva

P.S. The first of the month also means a new edition of Paranatellonta! Meet our cute little ghost in number 343.

5 hours left!

The ten count-down dragons

The full set of count-down dragons is counting down the hours with us! It’s almost like New Year’s Eve came early. To see them all in detail, you can check Instagram.

There are now exactly 5 hours left in the Kickstarter for the audiobook of The Dragon of Ynys, narrated by Ryan H. Reid. It will end on December 16 2021 2:00 AM CET. So if you’d like to preorder a copy of a full fairy tale audiobook with an aro ace main character, trans and lesbian side characters, a dragon, and a message of acceptance for as little as $1, best be fast!

Or just enjoy the silly dragons, of course! ^^

Thank you for being here!

How It Started

With almost $3000 on the counter (which would be a magical number to push us forward in the algorithms and general perception!), we’ve got a new update from narrator Ryan H. Reid where he is getting started on the audiobook. Ever wondered what the absolute essentials are to create an audiobook? Discover it in the new video!

At the time I write this, there are 64 hours left to preorder your The Dragon of Ynys audiobook on a “pay what you can” basis, starting from $1. And yes, offering just $1 is absolutely a legit option that helps us forward! We can’t express our thanks enough to everyone who is making this project possible and who helps us move towards the best possible quality.

The Countdown Dragons (or afteldraakjes) have all gotten their own micro-poem by E.D.E. Bell – you can see the whole thread of dragon drawings and poetry here on Twitter.

This was the latest little dragon, with 3 days to go:

Dragon Three

If you want to know what the Dragon of Two will look like, check the thread or my Instagram this evening (European time). Feel free to show them, and of course our Kickstarter, to all your friends!

Wishing you a very nice day with delicious tea (if you like tea),

More awesome dragons from Atthis Arts!

Hello!

Another cute dragon project from The Dragon of Ynys publisher Atthis Arts is approaching with an impressive beating of wings! Check out a sample of the beautiful art that will be found inside the illustrated book Alia Terra – Stories from the Dragon Realm on this Kickstarter page! The stories (in English and Romanian) are written by my good friend Ava Kelly, illustrated by the incredibly talented Matthew Spencer, and edited by the wonderful E.D.E. Bell. More info about all of them can be found under the “Our Team” banner on the Kickstarter page.

What else you’ll find there? A clip where you can hear Ava talking with subtitles in 13 languages (yes, there’s also Dutch – you may want to put it on full screen to see all the languages in the subtitle menu), info on the book and on the rewards that you can add to your own dragon hoard, and of course a chance to actually make this magical project happen by pre-ordering your own copy. Please check it out and consider supporting them! And if you can’t, it would be appreciated very much if you spread the word.

Love,

Minerva

Paranatellonta

Paranatellonta 300

Today, Fie and I have posted the 300th edition of Paranatellonta! A real milestone for our photography-and-storytelling project, which has been going since August 2013.

To celebrate, we have both created a painting for the other to write a ten-sentence story about. You can see the paintings accompanied by their stories by following the links below:
